Do I need to bring my own music stand?

Please bring your own music stand as the venue does not have them on hand.

How will part assignments be handled?

Part assignments are being determined now and you will be assigned your part when you check-in on the day of the festival.  Parts can be rotated by piece so everyone has a chance to play a variety of parts.

How will the music be distributed? Will we receive it before the festival?

Music has been selected by the conductor and in the interest of fun, cost savings and suspense, neither the names of the pieces nor the parts themselves will be distributed until you arrive at the festival.

What should I wear for the performance?

The band will be wearing concert black for the performance, which means a black dress or black skirt and black blouse with dark hose and shoes for the women, and a black long sleeve collared shirt, black pants and shoes for the men.

Where can I have lunch?

Lunch is being provided.  You will be provided a traditional Texas BBQ plate including brisket, beans, and slaw.  If your family is with you or you would like something other than BBQ, there are a number of fast food and other restaurants within 2 miles of the venue.

Is dinner being provided?

Dinner is on your own and can be enjoyed at any one of the restaurants nearby the event location.

Are we rehearsing all day?

The rehearsal schedule is from 8:00 - 11:30 AM and from 12:30-4:00 PM.

When is the concert performance?

The free concert will begin at 7pm.  Please invite your friends and family to attend.

Can I register on the day of the festival?

Registrations will be accepted on the day of the event with the entry fee to be paid in cash (exact change) or check only.

Do I need a gig light?

You are welcome to bring a battery powered gig light.  We will be performing in an auditorium and lighting may be different from your home venue.

Where will I be able to change into concert attire?

There are many rehearsal rooms and restrooms at the venue for changing.

Once I arrive on campus, where is the event being held? 

The festival is being held in the main campus auditorium
